The Fujita Cold-Air Intake is a device used to bring lower temperature air into a  internal combustion engine, to increase engine power and efficiency. Standard air intake systems tend to be very restrictive, in order to eliminate engine noise. Most cold-air intake systems come in four main pieces. There are two mandrel-bent aluminum pipings, one billet-aluminum MAF adaptor and one high-flow filter. Par for the course, results tend to add from 3 to 5 horsepower. Aftermarket Cold-Air Intake systems come in many different colors and sizes, and are easy to install when compared with other performance increasing modifications. All cold-air intakes operate on the principle of increasing the amount of oxygen available for combustion with fuel. Because cooler air has a higher density (greater mass per unit volume), Cold-Air Intakes generally work by introducing cooler air from outside the hot engine bay. However, the term "Cold Air Intake" is often used to describe other methods of increasing oxygen to an engine, which may even increase the temperature of the air coming into an engine.

Some strategies used in designing Cold-Air Intakes are:  Increasing the diameter of the air intake, allowing increased airflow, smoothing the interior of the Intake to reduce air resistance,  providing a more direct route to the air intake. Tuning the length of the Intake to provide maximum airflow at certain engine speeds (RPM) using a more efficient, less restricting Air Filter, Cold-Air provides more oxygen for the engine to burn. With prices anywhere from around $300-$500, a custom Cold-Air Intake provides a noticeable horsepower increase without breaking the bank, a relatively low cost. There is also the matter of easy installation. While bolting on a turbo kit or tinkering with an ECU is likely work for a professional, most people with even a hint of do it yourself ethos can complete a Cold-Air intake installation in (depending on the car/system) less than two hours.

A Cold-Air Intake is traditionally longer and in most cases extended behind the bumper cover so that it can ingest more direct air. In addition to more direct air, the longer plenum achieves higher torque gains as well as impressive horsepower figures. Depending on the complexity of the plenum route, the Fujita Cold-Air Intake may come as a 1 piece or 2 piece Cold-Air Intake System. Different diameters, filters, and bends are all key factors of the process of each Cold Air Intake. The in house Dynojet is the final judge of which Cold-Air intake configuration will make it to production. Air/Fuel rations are also an important factor in testing the Cold-Air Intake, ensuring that safe and near factory levels are maintained in order to not trip any electronics sensors on your Acura.

Fujita's Super Flow High Performance Cold-Air Filter was designed to maximize efficiency without compromising filtration. The high gloss Cold-air horn enables air to enter the intake chamber in a high velocity spiral motion. The base of the filter was technically engineered to ensure a smooth and rapid passage of the air into the intake chamber. Cleaning the air filter is simple and can be done using any aftermarket filter cleaning kit offered in today's market.
